The museum opened within the Association of Anti-Fascist Fighters and Anti-Fascists of the Šibenik-Knin County, in premises on the ground floor of a palace in Šibenik's old town.
The permanent exhibition chronologically presents the wartime events in Dalmatia with an emphasis on the offensive of the Eighth Dalmatian Corps, by which Dalmatia and the islands were permanently returned to Croatia.
The same premises now also house the multimedia hall set in the palace's former cistern.
